Itinerary

Morning – Departure & Kelor Island

Early in the morning (around 07:00 AM), our driver and English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo and transfer you to Labuan Bajo Harbor. After boarding the speedboat, the journey to Komodo National Park begins.

Your first stop is Kelor Island, where you will enjoy a short hike to the hilltop for panoramic views of Flores Island, Menjerite Bay, and surrounding islands. Afterward, you can relax, take photos, and enjoy snorkeling in the clear waters around Kelor Island.

Midday – Rinca Island & Padar Island

Continue the trip to Rinca Island, one of the main islands in Komodo National Park. Accompanied by an official park ranger, you will join a medium trekking through savanna and forest areas to observe Komodo dragons and other wildlife such as deer, water buffalo, and tropical birds.

After trekking, the journey continues to Padar Island. Here, you will hike to the famous viewpoint and admire the iconic panoramic scenery of Padar Island with its dramatic hills and three-colored bays—one of the most photographed spots in Indonesia.

Afternoon – Pink Beach, Komodo Island & Taka Makassar

Next, visit Pink Beach, well known for its unique pink-colored sand. You can swim, snorkel, and enjoy the vibrant marine life around the coral reefs.

Afterward, head to Komodo Island (Loh Liang), the natural habitat of the Komodo dragon. With a local ranger, you will explore the island, observe Komodo dragons in their natural environment, and learn about their behavior and life cycle. You will also have time to visit the local souvenir stalls in Komodo Village.

Late Afternoon – Manta Point & Kanawa Island

Continue the trip to Taka Makassar, a stunning sandbank surrounded by turquoise waters—perfect for photos and snorkeling.

The next highlight is Manta Point, where you may have the chance to snorkel alongside giant manta rays (subject to sea conditions).

The final stop is Kanawa Island, a snorkeling paradise with crystal-clear water, colorful coral reefs, and tropical fish.

FAQ

What is included in the Komodo tour package?
Our Komodo tour packages include a shared or private boat, an English-speaking tour guide, meals during the trip (breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the package), mineral water, snorkeling gear (mask, fins, and snorkel), and hotel/airport transfers in Labuan Bajo. Entrance tickets to Komodo National Park and ranger fees are not included and must be paid separately on-site.
How do I get to Labuan Bajo?
Labuan Bajo is accessible by flight from major Indonesian cities such as Jakarta, Bali (Denpasar), and Surabaya. Several airlines operate daily flights to Komodo Airport (LBJ) in Labuan Bajo. Flight duration from Bali is approximately 1.5 hours. We recommend booking your flights in advance, especially during peak season (July–September).
What is the best time to visit Komodo Island?
The best time to visit Komodo Island is during the dry season, from April to October. During this period, the sea is calm, making boat trips more comfortable and snorkeling conditions ideal. July to September is peak season. The wet season (November–March) can bring rough seas and limited visibility, but tours are still available at lower prices.
Is it safe to see Komodo dragons?
Yes, it is safe as long as you follow the instructions of the official park ranger who accompanies every group. Komodo dragons are wild animals and can be dangerous, so visitors must maintain a safe distance, avoid sudden movements, and never wander off alone. Our guides and rangers are experienced professionals who ensure your safety throughout the visit.
Can I customize my Komodo tour itinerary?
Yes! We offer private charter options that allow you to customize your itinerary based on your interests and schedule. Whether you want to focus on snorkeling, trekking, photography, or wildlife, we can tailor the trip for you. Contact us via WhatsApp or email at info@triptokomodo.com to discuss your preferred itinerary.
What should I bring on a Komodo tour?
We recommend bringing: sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a swimsuit, a change of clothes, a light jacket (for early morning hikes), comfortable trekking shoes or sandals, a waterproof bag for your valuables, a camera or GoPro, cash in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for entrance tickets and personal expenses, and any personal medication you may need.

We recommend checking the latest fee structure before your trip, as prices may change. Our team will provide updated information upon booking.
Is snorkeling suitable for non-swimmers?
Snorkeling can be enjoyed by non-swimmers with the use of a life jacket, which is provided on board. Our crew will assist and supervise all guests during snorkeling sessions. However, we recommend that guests with limited swimming ability inform us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements for their safety and comfort.
What is the difference between an open trip and a private charter?
An open trip (shared trip) means you join a group of other travelers on the same boat, making it a more affordable option. A private charter means the entire boat is reserved exclusively for your group, offering more flexibility in terms of itinerary, departure time, and privacy. Both options are available at triptokomodo.com to suit different budgets and preferences.
